2011, EXIT THROUGH THE GIFT SHOP

來不及好好回顧2010，2011就已經開始了。這一年，我選擇了 Banksy 的 EXIT THROUGH THE GIFT SHOP 作為我的開年電影。

我或者應該稱之為紀錄片。但這真的是紀錄片嗎？或是一個 mockumentary？Thierry Guetta aka. Mr. Brainwash aka. MBW 的一生，有幾多是真的發生過的事實？有幾多是 Banksy 與 Shepard Fairey 的創作？

其實，「事實」與否並不重要。Mr. Brainwash 在 Art scene 的現像本身，就已經是一件 art piece。「Mr. Brainwash」這個名字已經說明了一切：在高度資本主義的社會當中，傳媒的渲染就是人氣，人氣就是「事實」，人氣造就「好」與「壞」，人氣造就「善」與「惡」。傳媒渲染出來的人氣，就是當下的精神領䄂。

就像 George Orwell Nineteen Eighty-Four 中 IngSoc 所朔造的 Big Brother 一樣。

由 Andy Warhol 開始，Pop Art 就不是關於那些「畫」本身，而是關於傳媒與人氣。Banksy 這次打造了 Mr. Brainwash 這個人物，Pop Art 走出了畫框，也穿越了 Street Art 的牆壁，來到一個活生生的人身上，一邊在諷刺高度資本主義社會的荒謬，一邊令人反思這個社會現象。

2011年，YAMANYAMO會很樂意與大眾玩玩Pop Art意味的遊戲。

(很嚮往 Andy Warhol, The Factory, the Velvet Underground 的時代呢。)

You can’t imagine how much I love this film (or just the trailer).

There is something wrong, something uncompromising in Romain Gavras’s blood,
and you can feel it in EVERY SINGLE ACTOR, EVERY SINGLE SHOT and EVERY SINGLE EDIT POINT in this trailer,
although you already knew that when you were watching Justice’s STRESS and the legendary documentary A CROSS THE UNIVERSE.

Franz Kafka and Truman Capote

Suddenly a scene from the film A SINGLE MAN came to my mind.

George Falconer (Colin Firth) was sitting in the same same couch with his lover Jim (Matthew Goode). George was reading Franz Kafka’s Metamorphosis, while Jim was reading Truman Capote’s Breakfast at Tiffany’s.

Personally I love both of these stories. I love the way Kafka portrayed the hopelessness of social-phobic man, and I love the way Capote showing how a socialite girl can hurt herself and people around her. But what really tickled me was the atmosphere that the 2 intimate friends reading the books they loved together. It might be common in the 60′s, but not today in 2010. Maybe we can read eBooks on the iPads on the same couch, but sure you know it is not the same.

I love Mad Men, and I like A SINGLE MAN. I love Andy Warhol and Edie Sedgwick. I love The Velvet Underground and Nico. I love Truman Capote.

I know I miss the 60′s, although I haven’t been there.

先看到的是2009年中，他為 Kanye West 製作的 We Were Once a Fairytale.

能夠讓Kanye West在鏡頭前飾演真實的自己，
對自己的「自大」自嘲一番，已經是一件非常了不起的事。
故事後段，Spike Jonze 引領觀眾一同挖掘 Kanye West 脆弱的內心，
以surreal的手法去讓 Kanye West 作出真情「剖白」，更是神來之筆。
在短短的十一分鐘內，Spike Jonze 讓我們深深地陷入了他為 Kanye West 而設的孤獨修羅場。

然後，期待已久的 Where The Wild Things Are Blu-Ray 近日推出。

故事大綱其實與 Tim Burton 的 Alice In Wonderland 差不多，
都是現實生活迫人，然後主角誤打誤撞進入了奇幻古怪的世界，
經歷了一些不可思議的冒險後，得到了勇氣，領略到一些人生的道理，
最後回到現實，生命從此改變了。

3D 的 Alice in Wonderland 能令觀眾增加了觀能上的投入感，
但 Where The Wild Things Are 的 facial animation 更能令觀眾投入到感情真實的電影世界裡！
各人背後的理念，妥協時的矛盾，經歷過的滄桑，都實實在在地反映了現實的生活。
與其感受 Alice in Wonderland 及 Avatar 那種逃避式的「3D奇幻世界」，
我更鍾情於這種現實式的童話故事。

故事雖然老套，但厲害在 Spike Jonze 居然可以透過 robot 的角色，
去營造那種生活感，以及將情感表達得自然細緻。
I’m Here 成為了近日我的最愛。

1st ever authorized release of Warhol’s films on DVD

so this is what Andy Warhol famous for: putting people (or his superstars) in front of his film camera in the Factory and let them be themselves for as long as he wanted.

This time we have 13 of those screen tests shot in the middle of the chaotic glamourous ’60s, featuring the legendary superstar Edie Sedgwick, the cool Nico, Lou Reed from the Velvet Underground, the very talented but die young dancer Freddy Herko and more.

But Where is the Bob Dylan’s one?
